How To Craft Poison Pool Druid Build In Diablo 4 Season 9 With Rotting Lightbringer?

If you have been playing Diablo 4, you will know that most seasons will bring new exclusive unique items to each class when they are first launched. Based on this, most of the new season builds for these classes are also crafted around these items.

In Season 9, which will be launched on July 1, according to 2.3.0 PTR, all 6 Diablo 4 classes will get a new unique item, among which Druid’s is Rotting Lightbringer.

Based on this, we will introduce you to Poison Pool Druid Build crafted around this item.

    The Role Of Rotting Lightbringer

This item is an ancestral unique two-handed mace, it has the following combat benefits. However, to unlock all the effects, you need to ensure that the item level is at least 73:

    • 496 Damage Per Second
    • [442 – 662] Damage per Hit
    • 0.90 Attacks per Second (Slow)
    • +170.0% Damage to Poisoned Enemies
    • + [26.0 – 35.0]% Chance for Pulverize to Hit Twice
    • + [114.0 – 150.0]% Poison Damage
    • – [27.0 – 45.0]% Resource Consume
    • + [18.0 – 22.0]% Willpower

More specifically, if you utilize this weapon in combat, every ten seconds Pulverize will form a puddle of water that will poison enemies for 200 – 400% of its damage over 6 seconds. The puddle will then cause nearby enemies to be splashed with additional water to take 20 – 40% of the total damage from the puddle.

This wide range of poison damage means that the weapon can damage multiple enemies at once when you are farming Diablo 4 gold through The Pit or other endgame dungeons, making farming more efficient.

    Disadvantages

For the sake of game balance, these new Diablo 4 unique items are powerful but also have flaws. Take Rotting Lightbringer, for example, it does not work on every attack, and there is a 4-second downtime when you are fighting a boss, which reduces your DPS.

In addition, the reduction in resource consumption provided by the weapon, while saving resources, will weaken the effectiveness of Ancestral Guidance, one of Druid’s key passive skills, because the passive is useful only if you consume enough spirit.

    Best Skills

Based on this, if you want to craft a Poison Pool Build, it is recommended that you pair Grizzly Rage with Rotting Lightbringer as the best skill. This skill is a Druid ultimate skill that allows you to transform into a Dire Werebear in 10 seconds.

In this form, you will get 60% extra damage and 20% damage reduction, as well as a 3% increase in damage per second (up to 75%). After that, each enemy killed can extend the skill duration by 1 second, and even 5 seconds for killing overpowering bosses (up to 10 seconds).

If you want the entire build to play a better combat effect, you need to maximize the effect of overpower. In this way, you must kill enemies quickly enough, because the effect of overpower depends on the number of enemies you kill. The longer the time and the more enemies you kill, the better the effect (and you can also get more Diablo 4 gold or gear as a reward).

It is worth noting that when utilizing Grizzly Rage, don’t forget to utilize the help of your companions. As a unique mechanism of Druid class, companions can inherit 100% of your character’s attributes and have corresponding active and passive skills.

When you utilize Grizzly Rage, you will lose all other non-exposed abilities, but they still apply to your companions. Based on the poison damage characteristics of Poison Pool Druid Build, it is recommended that you choose Vine Creeper as a partner, which can also output poison damage.

    Best Gear And Runes

Although the core of this build, Rotting Lightbringer, is also a piece of gear, after all, the synergy between more different gears can strengthen the build. Based on this, it is recommended that you utilize Ring of Starless Skies as another important gear option.

This gear belongs to ancestral mythic unique ring, which not only increases your resistance to all elements, but also increases your attack speed, critical hit chance, and lucky hit rate. It can be said that it is suitable for almost all Diablo 4 builds.

As for runes, Nagu + Xan is a good Runeword for this build. You can create this Runeword by adding the two runes to your Rotting Lightbringer.

Among them, Nagu can maintain at least 1 active summon for 5 seconds, gaining offering for each up to 6 summons. Xan makes your next attack a guaranteed critical hit and gives you an overpower effect that lasts for 0.35 seconds.

    Best Horadric Spells And Jewels

As you know, both Rotting Lightbringer and Poison Pool Build themselves mainly deal with poison damage. So if you want to enhance this build by combining it with Season 9 exclusive Horadric Spells and Jewels, you should choose the corresponding option.

Based on this, you can utilize Corrosive Vapor as your Infusions after selecting any Catalysts, because it allows your Spell Catalyst to deal Poison or Poisoning damage to enemies.

After that, the damaged enemies will also receive 150% poison damage for 4 seconds, and this effect will be applied to each enemy every 3 seconds. When you upgrade Corrosive Vapor to 5, it will also disable the life-steal effect of monsters for 5 seconds.

After choosing the right Horadric Spells, you can craft the right Horadric Jewels to further increase the power of the spells. Based on the above spells, Horadric Crest, Reverie Horn, Tyrant Bane, etc. are all good jewels.

The above is Poison Pool Druid Build recommended for you. As 2.3.0 PTR is about to end. If you are interested in this build, you can remember this guide and try it when Season 9 is officially launched! Good luck!
