    Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty Start Shooting for Border 2 with Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan

    The much-anticipated sequel to the iconic 1997 war film Border has officially gone on floors, with a powerful ensemble cast led by Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Titled Border 2, the film marks a new chapter in patriotic storytelling, combining action, emotion, and heroism on the big screen.

    Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by JP Dutta’s daughter Nidhi Dutta under JP Films, Border 2 commenced shooting today at a high-security military zone near Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer, with real Indian Army personnel reportedly on board to support the shoot.

    While Sunny Deol reprises his role as the valiant Major Kuldeep Singh, the sequel introduces a fresh lineup of soldiers played by Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and debutant Ahan Shetty. This blend of veteran and young talent is set to bring renewed energy to the legendary saga of India’s military history.

    Diljit Dosanjh, who recently won praise for his role in Amar Singh Chamkila, expressed his excitement:

    Ahan Shetty, stepping into his first war film, also shared his enthusiasm, saying he feels privileged to be learning from icons like Sunny Deol on set.

    Border 2 is believed to be based on another real-life military operation during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, though exact plot details are under wraps. The film promises to stay true to the original’s emotional core while raising the scale with modern warfare technology and intense action sequences.

    Cinematographer Ayananka Bose is behind the lens, ensuring the desert battlegrounds come alive with realism and intensity.

    A Legacy Continues

    The original Border, directed by JP Dutta and starring Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, and Akshaye Khanna, remains one of Bollywood’s most beloved war dramas. With Border 2, the legacy continues for a new generation, reminding audiences of the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers.

    The film is slated for a grand Independence Day 2026 release.
